The Petr Hvižď Award to a young promising filmmaker is awarded by the B16 and Alternative Film Society. 		The Petr Hvižď prize *This is a special prize for the best film or video by a young director. It is meant to remind us of how fragile human life is and how tragic it is when it prematurely ends, especially when the person is a talented and great person like our good friend and close colleague Petr Hvižď. He was a promising young director who made many short films - "Last Invitation", "Shadow Puppets" (1984), and "Sanctuary" (1986) - and was the B16 grand prize winner twice. This was followed by his acceptance at the Prague Film Academy (FAMU), where he made the medium-length film "Narrator of Dreams" (1990). In 1994, he debuted with his first feature film "Order". For Czech Television, he then make the films "Debenture" and "The Thirteenth Cage", and most importantly, the documentaries about Saint Vojtech. There were also the documentaries "The Possibilities of Heroes", the two-part series "Dukla Blood and Myths", and the three-part "Shadow Soldiers". He was awarded many times for his documentary work, including a "Trilobit" television award, a "Pierot", and recognition from the Olomouc Academy of Film. The prize was created by professional sculptor Zdeněk Kolářský. Der Petr Hvižď-Preis Der Preis ist eine besondere Auszeichnung des Films oder Videos für einen jungen Autor*. Er ist hier, um uns alle daran zu erinnern, wie gebrechlich das Menschenleben ist und wie tragisch ist es, wenn es vorzeitig endet, besonders wenn es sich um so eine talentierte und starke Persönlichkeit handelt, wie es unser guter Freund und naher Mitarbeiter Petr Hvižď war. Der hoffnungsvolle junge Regisseur drehte eine Reihe von kurzen Spielfilmen: "Poslední pozvání (Die letzte Einladung)", "Stínohra (Das Schattenspiel)" (1984), "Útočiště (Die Zuflucht)" (1986) und zweimal gewann er den ersten Preis der B 16. Während seines Studiums an der FAMU drehte er den Film "Vykladač snů (Der Traumdeuter)" (1990) und im Jahre 1994 schuf er seinen ersten Ganzabendfilm "Řád (Der Orden)". Für das Tschechische Fernsehen Brno drehte er die Episoden "Úpis (Verschreibung)" und "Třináctá klec (Der dreizehnte Käfig)" , aber vor allem die Dokumentarfilme über den heiligen Vojtěch, Dokumentarfilme "Možnosti hrdinů (Die Möglichkeiten von Helden)", den zweiteiligen Zyklus "Dukla -krev a mýtus (Dukla - Blut und Mythos)" und den dreiteiligen Zyklus "Stínoví vojáci (Die Schattensoldaten)". Für seine dokumentarische Arbeit gewann er auch einige Preise - den Fernseh-Trilobit, Pierrot und einen Preis beim "Academia Film" in Olomouc. Autor dieses Preises ist der akademische Bildhauer Zdeněk Kolářský.
